CREATIVE
From solo performance projects and collaborations to writing for theatre and music, creativity for me is like breathing. My work explores the intersections of Jewish and South African identity, memory, belonging and gender, often asking what it means to hold multiple histories at once.
I am currently developing Ten Things, an interdisciplinary performance work that weaves together personal narrative, archive, music and visual imagery to explore Johannesburg, family history and the complexities of contemporary Jewish life in South Africa. Alongside this, I continue to create musical projects that celebrate Yiddish culture and progressive Jewish practice.
Below are videos of some of my recent creative projects. These include solo work, collaborations and community-based performance projects.
To listen to the album of my longest running project, "A Bis'l Libe", which revives old Yiddish songs, go to Sound Cloud, or find out more on abisllibe.blogspot.com.
